Moi Fa in CLF notates five directions (same as the flower). Bat Gwa notates eight directions (same as the bagua trigram).

Rep Power: 149 | | | i am increasingly of the opinion
that the 3 empty hand forms in wing chun
are just one form
and have started playing them as such
must say i am getting beneficial results
epsceially with the leg conditioning

Rep Power: 19 | | | Hung Ga forms:
- Lau Ga kuen ("Lau" family fist, originally from Mok Gar)
- Gung Gee Fuk Fu kuen (taming the tiger)
- Fu Hok Seung Ying Kuen (tiger crane paried form) other animal forms:
In addition to the Hung Ga forms, our lineage has a separate form for each animal. They're fairly long (about half the length of Gung Gee) and rate as intermediate-advanced level in difficulty. These are in order of complexity:
- tiger
- leopard
- crane
- snake
- dragon bak siu lum forms:
We also have 2 forms from northern shaolin we only know as "Siu Lum Yat" & "Siu Lum Yee". - I only know Siu Lum Yat, Siu Lum Yee hasn't been taught in over 7rs, but some older students still remember it. other forms:
- drunken boxing
There's also a "beginner" introductory form that is split into 3 parts. Part 1 is all internal and is also known as "breathing exercises". Part 2 is a like a short 10-move sequence with some basic hung-ga-style bridging and po pai sao. Part 3 is long-fist influenced and includes stuff like a sweep and a tornado kick (taan fei toi). Weapon forms:
- Cane
- Gwun - (3 sets for staff: basic + advanced)
- Daan dao (broadsword)
- Paired broadswords
- Gim (longsword)
- Butterfly knives (Baat cham dao)
- Double Daggers
- Spear
- broadsword vs. spear. sparring set
- staff vs. staff sparring set Favourites:
Without a doubt, the hung ga forms - Lau Gau kuen, Gung Gee Fuk Fu keun, Fu Hok Seung Yin kuen. Also for animal sets, I have a net preference for the standalone tiger form (no surprise there). For weapon forms - daan dao, double broadsword, and butterfly knives.

Rep Power: 0 | | | lol you guys are over me haha, my style wei chin is a mix of different styles, the styles are chot lee fut, hung gar, and all 5 animals, snake, crane, leapord, tiger, and dragon. my favorite form right now would have to be my 5 animal form. this form is a inner breathing form and is really long. it helps condition the body internally, and externally. (not to mention i won alot of tournaments with it). my kung fu school teaches only like 20 forms.including weapons |

Rep Power: 6 | | | Almost every style has forms that have names that are not unique to it. Example: Yin ching sword, water margin axes, emperor staff, plum blossom hands ect...
I learned a very short seven star form call yee lin jeun yesterday. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I only know two empty hand forms from 7 * Mantis...
Da Fan Che (Whirlwind Boxing) is taught first even though its an intermediate form and harder than most..
I'm about 70-75% thru on my second form Chop Choy (Piercing Fist). I'm up to the horse stance twisting to horse stance whipping hook punches.
I just gotta remind myself to do them slow until I get the feeling of where my feet go to burn that into my muscle memory |
