I know about 90 forms, and still have about another 120 to go before knowing all that is in my system.
My favorite are our Lohan forms, brutal, effective and very fun.
My favorite animal forms are our Snake system, my specialty.
Favorite Weapon forms, Dan Dao, 2-handed Jian, Cane, Iron Crutches, Fan.

I practice every day running through some, but when we learn them we do nothing but that form for a month or more to build the muscle memory and get the techniques smooth, from there it is up to us to keep them sharp and we often do refreshers to touch up what might be rusty.
Meihuazhuang is a very complex system, has been around a very long time and thus has one of the largest repertoires of forms that I've ever encountered, to make it more balanced for us our master has given us each an area of expertise to specialize in and so I and my kung fu brothers work extensively on these styles, their techniques and forms and teach them to each other when the time is right, thus the knowledge stays sharp and available to pass on to the next generations of students.
Luckilly we all teach at the same place or it might be a little tougher, but that is always a possibility that at some point we will separate to teach our own schools, but for now we each have our area of skill that we work on with each other and so things stay sharp, just takes alot of hard work and dedication which we all have as we do not want to see this style die out, and we are the only school of this system here in the states, the only one authorized and certified by the late GM to carry it on, so we make sure to keep things sharp and record ourselves doing our forms so we always have a back up should we forget.

I like my Lohan's the most...
and the Shaolin Guaedian Boxing form, although my knee won't allow me to do all those sweeps and tornado kicks anymore....
it's fast, aggresive and a continious attack....
like that a lot

Rep Power: 82 | | | So far.... .....I know these forms. Choy Li Fut
1. Tsop Choi
2. Poon Kiu My understanding is that these are not complete forms, but shortened versions of traditional forms. These were the two beginning forms we learn at my school.
3. Kong Chow Siu Sup Ji (small cross pattern) This is our first full traditional form in our curriculum.
4. Cheung Bau Jong (Wall Bag) This is one I am currently learning. I REALLY like this one! It really makes you focus on proper techique and aiming.)
5. Chau sot (single ended staff form) Again one I am currently learning. This is the first weapon form in our curriculum.
6. Suei Sau Sin (Hand Breaking Fan) (Learned this one in weapons class because I am impatient . This is a senior black sash form for us.)
7. Dahn Do (broadsword form- not sure of the full name) (Another weapons class form that I would not normally learn until later. Gotta say This one is one I am still learning and really suck at it! It is really hard for me and the fact that I am left handed while having to hold it in my right hand does not help! Any other southpaws have that problem?)
Here is a link to an extensive listing of Choy Li Fut forms if anyone is interested. http://plumblossom.net/ChoyLiFut/formslist.html
As far as Tai Chi goes. I know the 24 form and have just memorized the 40 form.

Rep Power: 30 | | | I know pretty much all 67 throws in judo. I then know that there is a fair few variations on each. So in total I can probably know about 200-300 variations of throwing.
Then there is the groundwork to add on, so probably another 50 or so techniques.
Then transitions, they're infinite really, as you never know how you're gonna get from one place to another due to the other persons reactions.
It's crazy, everything multiplies out. Like, there is 5/6 variations of a straight armbar that I can immediately think of! |

Yeah, but you've gotta learn them at the pace I did - so we should be ready for the first trade in about three years
