To agree here with Krissy. I think the most bothersome thing that I have seen in most karate kata (most not all) is the idea they have of power generation.
Its like the more muscle flexing and noise making they do the more powerfull the technique must be.

Not so. Many styles/branches work the body in tandem like a "Pendulum" the left side attacks, right side drives/provides the power Some have combination of this, it all depends. What that Kempo form lacked (from my CMA perepective) was whole body power. There was a lot of upper body strength with hip movement, (that's power...but not the whole body getting behind the movement/application. There is power then there is power! | |
