Rep Power: 0 | | The Mystical Dragon I have searched the web for the very same information and have come up with very little and the books I have bought all refer to the next edition for the "more effective" techniques.
I am a medical professional and I have acquired a Gray's guide to Anatomy book and am currently reviewing the section on the nervous system, if I come up with anything of value I will let you know. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I too have tried to research this area extensively, and have read some of Grays Anatomy, (I've owned it for a while now,) but, without proper medical background have struggled to make any use of it. Silent dragon, please post whatever you can, whenever you can, or anyone else for that matter, all help is valuable. Thank you. |

Rep Power: 37 | | | Stick with your Hung Kuen, maybe one day when your skills are highly developed and your attitude seems to be of a good moral standard someone may choose to show you such things.
Its been my experience that most sifus only teach such things in true depth as part of the medical sides of there art.
Im VERY lucky in that my sifu has started to teach me Chinese massage and traditional bone setting. As such i can tell you, now i have a MUCH better idea about how and what to dislocate and when.
Without having however a base in actual healing this knowledge would be useless and unpracticed.
In practice the main time you will actualy get hands on experience in this type of thing is in healing not in hurting. Of course if you can heal you can always do the reverse.
My honest advice to you is to not worry about such things. In reality there not that usefull of skills. I dont have much need to try to dislodge my sparring partners spine but i have a very definate need to learn to slip and weave under his punches.
Nerve holds are VERY complicated if done properly and you must have a detailed knowledge of anatomy and human structure. Let alone actualy being skilled enough to grab a point the size of a five cent piece and sink your finger into it at the exact preassure and angle required to cause notable pain WHILE your opponent is trying furiously to take your head off.
Such things for now will remain palor tricks and are not worth your effort. learnt to defend yourself properly first, you can then worry about performing show tricks on your opponent.
Personaly dispite all my 'medical dim mak' training i would still MUCH prefer a solid lead hook as a good form of offense.

You need a good grasp of the basic's in order to get in a position where you can USE any nerve holds, anyway. Learn the basics well first-then work on the more esoteric applications of the martial arts!

Rep Power: 16 | | | Investigate Dim Mak. There is no magic to it, just need the knowledge of location, depth, time of day, what direction energy of each meridian flows, five stages of change related to meridians, (learning acupuncture is the best its more useful to heal yourself and others than the few points 108 to hurt), the ability to fa jing explosive power which can penetrate, hand forms and conditioning to strike or grab areas that are most venerable at the time. Taking the mystery out of it take a right hook to the jaw produces knock out, just happened to hit ST 5 or combo of close points in the right direction or solar plexus strike and opponent cant finish the fight happened to hit CV point. It is much better to know what you are doing channeling your energy to a single point takes skill and isn't that what it is all about This is one area not to mess around with. Never “try “ these points out. It is something to learn and have a depth of Knowledge. Believe me if ever needed in a life or death situation your sub conscious will be hitting these spots before you have time to think about it! Peace for now. |

That, like anything you learn in the MA's is the essence of most skills. To learn the skill's well enough that you are effective and can perform the move without thinking.
