I was watching the senior instructor forms division at the recent PlumBlossom federation tournament and I saw the strangest form to date. The instructor came over sat down and performed the entire form while seated! He was halfway before it before I realized he was not about to jump up.
The judges were not too impressed, but I was intrigued. I found out later it is called the "Kwan Yin Seating in the Lotus Palm" form. I still want to find out more about it, what the purpose is for a seated form and all.
But it got me wondering, what forms have stuck out in your mind's as being really unique or strange? Either in a cool way or a strange way, or even a "what the heck was that goofy thing" way?

I could not for the life of me remember which hand form this was adapted from. I guess if you're having dinner at a chinese restaurant and a fight breaks out, it might come in handy?
Imagine having to do San Sau or working the applications out on a heavy bag with this form!
Yelling at the top of your lungs like you're about to kill somebody qi gong in Beijing.
Tibetan Yak Dance in Lhasa rather than a lion dance.

one of the craziest and coolest forms was a "di tong" form that I saw done at a Chinese New Year Celebration after the Lion Dance Routine. Di Tong is a form where you throw your body on the ground in various ways. It looks like it would totally hurt but the person doing it got up and continued this craziness.

”
Di Tang is a basic skill in CMA.
Wushu has taken it to a new level. Zhao Chang jun (met him in Xian in 01) beat Jet Li back in the day with it.

Question Authority. Question Society. Question Reality. Question Yourself. Question your conclusions, your judgments, your answers. Question this. If you question everything thoroughly enough, the truth will eventually hit you upside the head and you will know. But here’s a warning: It won’t be what you imagined. It won’t be even close.
