Right. It's like saying just because people don't really spar with sword and stuff in Kung Fu anymore, they were not developed for killing people with.

Just because we don't use CMA for warfare doesn't mean soldiers of old didn't.

That's basically what I'm saying. Nothing more.

Ok, and? What is the purpose or consequence of saying so?

People always freak out? Dunno seems that some people seem to take what I said differently than what I intended.

I was introduced to KF/MA's like most people. The movies. Bruce Lee, Shaw Bros. Chanbara, etc. on saturday mornings Black Belt Theater.

When I was finally serious enough to start something I found out about Hung Gar and thought I'd try it. I haven't looked back since.

My Sifu is the biggest reason for me sticking with it and to make him feel like I'm at least worthy enough to practice this art and make him proud is motivation enough.
Couple that with some really cool KF brothers and Sisters and an all round friendly/family atmosphere is what keeps me coming back.

The aspects of my training is fairly Old School but we do spar a lot and use modern training methods to mix with the traditional. Basically for me KF training is a good balance and my art blends a lot of really nice hard and soft principles that keep me working and striving to get better.
