i think if you were looking for 'the real shaolin stuff'

as in what techniques damo was teaching

you would probably be better of with yoga

than you would with any martial arts

Well, first one has to look at why Shaolin was built and uits purpose. Then one has to look and see why all of a sudden, a oppressing government, allowed it to be re-opened.

If I may, I think he rejects the notion of anything 'Buddhist' really being related to or inherently part of, anything 'martial'.

I think that's a load, but that seems to be his premise.
