I saw this in another thread and it got me thinking...

So if we have never been to the schools in question, never met anyone in question, have never seen them practice, etc. than how are we supposed to know?

This is the age of YouTube and things that aren't even supposed to be filmed wind up on the internet all the time. Most everyone has a video camera or at the very least a cell phone that will capture video. Therefore it should be very easy to get some video of ourselves putting our skills and our styles to the test, especially if we do it "often".

I will be more than happy to start. I wouldn't want to be hypocritical in matters such as these...

Maybe proving ourselves to you isn't our priority. Maybe it is not up to you to judge us all?

Maybe, just maybe, some of us here feel all MA does not have to pass the Cam test to be legitimate.

Maybe some of us just want to be on DL to talk MA and get sick of you constantly thinking you know more about every MA than everyone else, including those you have not studied v.s. Sifu's who have studied said tradition for decades?

Maybe you just aren't the Grand Poo-Baa/Lord/ Grandmaster etc. of ALL MA's who gets to decide everything about every other MAist. Maybe we don't care what you think about our MA, and just want to to stop pushing your agenda on every thread, no matter how unrelated! Killing a lot of threads in the process, as SG mentioned on another thread.

Extremism in anything is not a good thing. You say a lot of good things, but you need to back off and not be so extreme about it. We don't need to be rescued from our way of thinking, especially when you don't know nearly as much about all our mindsets as you claim.

Really how arrogant and full of yourself can you get?

If it is so darn important for you to judge, then it is not up to us to prove it to you, it is up to YOU to come visit all the schools you think you have the right to judge. Otherwise, you are speaking about things you do not have direct experience and knowledge of.

I don't think a single person here (including me) has said bad things about team praxis. I have a lot of respect for it.

The difference is, we are not obsessed with putting down your system, while you are dead set on moving us past your perceived limitations of systems/ schools/etc. you have not studied.

What part of the above did you not understand. Contrary to your self appointment, you are not the sole judge of what is legitimate MA.

No one said anything about judging anyone. No one said anything bad about anyone or their style. No one said anything about proving anything to anyone.

It's just a post to share video of us testing ourselves and our styles. I'm sure there are a lot of people here that would love to see vids of everyone.

Why are you so threatened by me making this thread? No one is twisting your arm. If you apply your stuff and put it to the test then post a vid. If not, then don't post a vid. It's that simple. But to make a defensive diatribe talking about all kinds of things that no one even mentioned reeks of some sort of insecurity.

Now, anyone else got vids to post?

We need to provide video proof to meet your approval but you aren't passing judgement- oh no.

That is what I am reacting to. I am not defensive. I am annoyed and tired of your absconding with threads completely unrelated all the freakin' time. It gets old. If you get to say the same old tired thing over and over again, I get to say what I think about it.

You opinion about schools and traditions and people you have not studied ort know carries no merit with me. In fact, it carries about as much weight as your side of the chopsticks debate with Unk.

The topic of this thread is about posting vids. If you apply and test your art then post a vid. The topic is not "If you don't apply and test your art then please post a huge diatribe of why you are butt-hurt and threatend by topics like these". Feel free to start another thread for that.

No one is going to judge you. If I wanted to judge you, Aaradia, I could do so simply by your reaction to this thread, as it speaks volumes. But that was not my intention. My intention is to get the people that do apply and test to post videos of themselves and share with others. I want to see the people here getting down. I am sure there are plenty others that would love to see some videos.

Wow, that's rich. Your complaining about someone throwing a thread off its original topic? That smacks of hypocrisy. (Which I wasn't BTW- my posts are a response to your request.)

How could you pass judgement on my MA's solely from what my responses are? That's not video proof and inconsistent with statements you have made in the past.

Besides, I will readily admit that I am not an advanced MAist and have done so often before. I am a 42 year old woman who only started a couple of years ago. I am far from great. But the key for me is I am better than before and getting better all the time.
