Rep Power: 6 | | | It does kind of look like a template. It's not, but I can definitely see how it does. The blog is templated though, I just added some custom designs to the template.
btw, for anyone wanting to do a website, the Wordpress blog is a decent place to start, they have a ton of plugins that are available so that it's much more than your standard blog.

A better banner image - more of a brand identity for your club. This might be a logo or a unique type face.
Secondly, create a more unique graphical style for your headers, rather than the gradient box. It might be a clipped corner, a brushtroke, a rusted metal panel, a rounded box. Anything but a black border box with gradient.
Perhaps try and theme the whole page with some texture, a parchment/chinese scroll type backdrop for example. If you want I can make a mock up for you at some point, though I'm a bit busy at the moment.
