What turns you off about MA websites?

The lack of websites for MA schools here is a real obstacle in getting word around.

They could always list their school on the DL! Not as great as having their own website but it would be a start.

It doesn't help that many MA teachers I've run into here are very technophobic. They don't even like using a PC, nevermind the internet. LOL.

Though it should be said that there are a couple of well put together SA MA websites. Just not as many as there should be. Browsing the net for MA schools here in SA is like only looking in one rockpool when there are hundreds, unfortunately.

At the moment, I am not officially aligned with any MA body/organisation, but when the opportunity presents itself, I would certainly bring it up.

NOt to mention many instructors I have met actually dont understand how to use a computer. Heck the first PC my parents got back in 1998 or so my dad had to be shown how to turn the thing on. And how to work its basic programs. Now he is very good with it.

Does the lack of a website count?

It might -- although lack of a website was never a turnoff for me when looking for a MA school, because I was interested in physically walking in and talking to the instructor. But the websites I did see gave me a little more information to walk in with.

Almost every MA instructor I've ever met is a technophobe to some degree. To me, that's not a big issue (I'd rather he/she be a good MA teacher than a good web designer). But an instructor should recognize the value of having such a relatively inexpensive business marketing tool available, and work with someone who has those skills to get a site up.
