It's normally known as "living inside a bubble". Add a little unconscious mass hypnosis and you got a party ie: if you live inside a bubble long enoug, you begin to truly believe what you do is real. If you believe in it enough, it's easier to convince others, especially people searching for something different in their lives.

i don't know what those "demonstrations" where the master looks like a conductor for an orchestra of stuntguys falling down are for, except maybe for a bit of fun and to give people something to be angry/wise about on forums..

Some say Qi exists, some say it doesn't. I know a guy in Australia who claims that he stopped a bullet with Qi. He's physically tough but I'd say he has no idea about Qi.

Nope. Just by virtue of the definition of the term kung fu, that was actually the antithesis of kung fu. It's just as bad as "supplement technique" fighting styles where emphasis is put on things like throat striking, eye gouging and groin biting in favor of putting in the time and hard work to develop real fundamental skills that help one control the range and pace of a fight. It's counter-productive and in no way should be compared to "hard work" or "skill".

On the other hand, that groin biting technique can come in useful
