Interesting Three Battles comparison

Pretty cool to see how certain styles have developed the same form and concentrate on different elements.

The first two (can't tell, no volume at work) look to be from 5 Ancestors & a flavor of Fujianese White Crane.

The first karate guy (no top) looked to be Uechi-ryu & the other Goju-ryu.

Yeah from Southern Bai he Quan. Which Strongly Influenced the developement of the Okinawan Hand (nahate?) arts.

See where somthing was lost along the way?

I liked the shoulder movements on the 1st guy (white crane, on the right). He seems to be getting the shoulder part of the power from the deeper pectoralis minor muscle instead of relying on the front deltoids, which is a common mistake in that type of movement.

I'm going to have to watch the last guy on the left a few more times over the next couple of days. The opening of his form where he rolls his hips with the hip flexors and then sets his chest & shoulders using the deep abdominal muscles is really interesting. I'm not 100% sure I like it, but I'm definitely intrigued. I've seen some (but not many) bagua & xingyi people do something similar, but only in stepping movements. Those are really strong muscles with good mechanical advantage.

I don't have a strong impression either way from the middle two.

Thanks for posting this. I'm going to favourite it so I can watch it some more. Whether or not I eventually agree with, it's pretty fascinating.
