Would anyone like to give me some tips on self defense?

Advanced isn't always better, sometimes the basics are the best things to use. And after two years they still aren't working, look for another school to train in. Or you can make a little concoction of cayenne and chili powder, toss that in his eyes, and pound on him while he's having trouble seeing.

yea ive read all of your comments and stuff and i just wanan say thnx i mean, everyone has an opinion but i just think im gonna get into his mind and work at it alil then strike but hey i still gota practice, well l8rz people

Out of my own curiosity, what style of Karate are you studying? Do you know what this other kid studies? Whats the age diff. ? Though the only one here that cold be a factor is the age. If you two are in the same studio, which it doesn't sound like thats the case, then bring the issue up to you teacher. And though this is something I would normally tell people to do, if it is a case that they are in another studio, then going to their teacher can cause him to have even more issues with you, now on a personal level, so be careful. Its not like you went to the principal or his parents. Just use your head. Kids now a days are not like when I was in school. Most have no sense of honor. Maybe this boy does. If this is so appeal to that. If not, Let your instructor know what is going on and give him/her an opportunity to settle the problem.

Aqira's example worked because the guy and his mates didn't decide to respond by taking Aquira by surprise and mashing him up. If you go that route think out a way to do it without getting into a cycle of payback.

I have done several forms of Kung Fu and ju jitsu, Jeet Kune Do and now I study Muay Thai.... it really does not matter what form or style you do.... you need to be strong in your mind before you can be physically strong. You need to stand up for yourself, to do this will gain you respect of others and as someone else said it changes the bully's view of you and if you suddenly stop being scared of him he'll ask himself why. then he will loose his cobfidence. sorry to waffle on, basically be strong in your mind and you do much better. Confidence is the biggest weapon you have.

My Drill Sergeant from basic said, in situations like those you need to take your bayonette and gouge out his eye balls gut out his inards, mix his eyeballs with his liver, and eat it for breakfest.... however, my advice is to tell an adult at the school, its much less bloody and painful for both parties

I never had problems with bullys in my school... I was the bigger guy.. not necessarily in size but in fight... once i defended myself with throwing loads of bricks on 2 guys who were afer me.. I just got lucky where we were.. there was contruction goin on.. so I had like tons of bricks handy.. before they knew wat hit them.. another one was its way... well I took flak for that in home n at school...

Or a whole different much smaller, but much more skilled group of people seek to enhance their own reputations by beating you.

Why not go and do some intensive boxing training? I've seen decent boxers with less than a year's training flatten black belts.

I knew a guy who took similar advice seriously. It worked, but it was a very specific situation and he knew before hand he was sacrificing himself to remove a threat to a larger group that looked to him for help.

With all the stuff that goes on in the US - high school bands being investigated as a terrorist threat for 'anti-american' lyrics etc. I'd be very careful to either live with it, show sufficient confidence verbally to back him down, or deal with it in a way 'good old boys' would approve of.

well that happens... but not so often...
when I say trouble doesn't mean the "trouble starter" kind of group... trouble in sense where a guy is with huge fighting spirit.

it has more or less Victim's mentality ideology... if you think u are going to be his next victim, guess what ??? You'll be ...

i think pai has the best answer.............a well timed kick in the nuts.................but chuangzu's option will have a much more profound effect lol genius...........................i come from an extended family so when i went to school i got very little hassle because of my families reputation of not taking sh$t..............a few times people kicked off with me, but they were duly delt with by bigger stronger members of my family....................except for once when i put this guy in a headlock and refused to let him go................in the end he just stopped struggling and started to cry, out of frustration i think, so i let him go and he never bothered me again....................................
