Master Luo De Xiu 2007 Seminars in the Philadelphia, PA area
August 4 -Gao Style Baguazhang: Emphasis on Houtian Baguazhang (straight-line forms). Focus on usage, including set-up, angle, fajing points and applications. Curriculum includes Xiantian Baguazhang (circular form) & Houtian Baguazhang (straight-line forms) training.
All training includes forms, body training and fighting applications. August 5 –Hebei Xingyiquan: Curriculum includes 5 elements, 3 of the 12 animals and/or An Shen Pao. All training includes forms, body training and fighting applications. Cost: $225/weekend or $125 for one day, paid in advance. This is a tentative curriculum and may change depending on the interests of the participants.
Location: Touch of Class Dance Studio

Luo De Xiu has been practicing and teaching the internal martial arts of Gao Style Baguazhang and Hebei Xingyiquan for over 30 years. Master Luo received his fundamental training from Zhang Zhunfeng's student Hong YiXiang. Zhang Zhunfeng studied directly from the originator of Gao Style Baguazhang, Gao Yisheng. Master Luo went on to study with many of Zhang's other students, including Hong Yiwen and Hong Yimien. Luo also studied with Sun Xikun's student, Liu Qian.
Master Luo's years of research into the theory and teaching of the internal arts, as well as his experience in many full-contact competitions gives him the ability to explain internal theory, proper body mechanics and fighting theory in a way that is clear and easy to understand.  |

“Shen Fa” or body method describes the set of movement principles found in your tai chi form or ba gua circle-walking practice that gives you a sense of grounded whole-body movement. It is possible to look at these principles as cross sections of each art, whether tai chi, ba gua, or many forms of chi gung like the ones taught at Brookline Tai Chi. In this workshop series we will take whatever form you are familiar with or enjoy practicing and examine: - whole body structure
- continuity of movement
- intention in movement
to uncover the core body mechanics of any form. Through two-person exercises and martial principles, we'll explore how these functional principles translate into everyday movement. We will also explore some stretching and joint mobilization techniques along with the 6 Healing Sounds, to help you develop a well-rounded practice regiment between workshops. Series dates: January 27, March 16, April 13 (you may attend any or all of the sessions. Sign up for all 3 and receive a 15% discount) Prerequisite: Open to all styles and levels of internal martial arts practice.

Hi, Sorry didn't notice this sticky thread before I posted this before.
Should be a great night, everyone welcome:
Our London bagua group has organised a 3 hour evening workshop with He Jinbao in June, open to everyone. Should be a really interesting evening whether you're into baguazhang or not, plus a great opportunity to meet someone who can make this stuff work.
He Jinbao, of Beijing, a fourth generation master of Yin Style Baguazhang, will lead a special session to introduce the eight separate animal systems of Yin Style Baguazhang.
Yin Style Baguazhang consists of techniques and fighting strategies based on the animals represented by the eight trigrams from the Bagua - Lion, Dragon, Snake, Bear, Phoenix, Rooster, Monkey & Qilin (Unicorn).
The session will be a combination of demonstration, lecture and practise. No previous experience of martial arts is necessary.
Beginners and non-practitioners will gain an overview of the entire martial system of Yin Style Baguazhang, whilst established practitioners will gain a better understanding of how the animal flavours interconnect and be able to apply this knowledge to their practise.
