It may not be a 'cult',...but, it definately has Buddhist icons,...for which the Chinese government got ticked-off about,...lol'. In comparison to Chen style Reeling-Silk Chi-Gong (Chan Ssu Gong),...it is VERY BASIC Level Chi-Gong at best. Most of the Chinese people I've talked to in Columbus,Ohio that practice it are super nice people, and have never tried to way-lay me or my students into any cult or join us or else activity!? They DO, however have a very good media thrust , that most un-knowing people can get caught up in. |

I don't know that the Chinese government got ticked off about the Buddhist icons so much as the cult practices. Falun Gong advocates against the PRC and that kind of talk is absolutely not allowed.
It's not just Falun Gong that peddles simplistic chi gung exercises. Any chi gung that claims to completely change a person, heal incurable disease, make you float off the ground, glow, or become an unbeatable fighter -- should be looked at with deep suspicion.

I'm not saying to ANYONE, do it, or join them,...i'm just saying from experiance,.. knowing that I teach Chi-Gong/Tai-Ji, they didn't try to bend my mind,...'and', when I watched their chi-gong demo',(so to speak'),...I wasn't impressed! The reason I brought up the 'Buddhist Icon' thing, is THEY told me it Wasn't a Buddhist religion driven activity, but their flyers were COVERED with Buddhist icons,(wheel of life, the Buddhist swastika', etc.') & Nope',..nobody there came even CLOSE to Glowing!,...LOL'! I like that,...heehee. Coach Li | |
