Rep Power: 0 | | | How do you keep Chi with you? I meditate and I can feel chi circulation, but, I can't seem to keep that feeling, or that state of concentration out of meditation, I have it until about 10-15 minutes after meditation, then I lose it, is there any way to keep it with you longer?

Rep Power: 100 | | | Maybe it goes away because your body does not want that ? Whatever you do, there is no proof that it really is qi what you move, and also not if what you do is anywhere healthy. In case both things are met, it still is a matter of AMOUNT of that, if your body affords to move it around for your feeling of security instead of using it for what it really needs it. My own body starts doing that from alone, creating a feeling of this tingling in my tongue, sometimes on the skin of the body, mouth, fingertips, whatever, to train something. If you leave your body alone and allow it to do what is GOOD for you, it will start when it's okay. If it's not okay, it will refrain from doing that, for whatever reason, and you should be glad it does it like that instead of destroying itself just for the esteem of "having qi feeling".

Rep Power: 153 | | | I keep it in a little purse that I carry around with me.
Oh wait ... you said chi.
Keep in mind that everything is in motion, including you & your body, and constantly changing. Different activities mean your body "changes gears" to deal with different conditions. When you're meditating your body may be in a calm cycle, your mind is less "busy" and etc., but when you get up and go make dinner you're switching to a more active state, and one that requires more attention and work.
Biochemically, the body produces more of some things and less of others depending on what you're doing. For example when exercising, the body might produce more endorphins than usual (endorphins combat pain and make you feel good, and in large amounts can produce a euphoric feeling), so you feel a little "boost" for several minutes after a workout, then it goes away. You wouldn't want to feel that boost all the time because you'd get tired of it, your body would get exhausted from the extra work, and you'd probably be running around acting all nympho (if you're a girl; not sure what you'd call a guy acting ... well ok). At any rate it would cause an imbalance, which is what you don't want.
Even if you're feeling focused and "chi-ey" for only 10-15 minutes after meditation, this is better than not feeling it at all. And you are building strength, concentration, etc. gradually (meaning, in theory, you are "building," "storing," or "nourishing" the chi). So I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Rep Power: 5 | | The last two posts above are correct. It is helpful on this subject to give up your expectations, because thay can actually stifle the process. If you have a good teacher, just train more. A lot more, all the time that you possible can. A good teacher of an established system is vital, though. If you bring your energy up too quickly on your own, things easily get out of whack and you can end up with problems.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Where are you trying to take it and why? Also for example, When you get a good workout your heartrate and breathing change, but if they remained in that state when not working out you would need to see a doctor. Chi is similar, when practicing you use it, but not when not practicing. Also With further practice Chi will be available on command with no need to remain in a heightened state. Just Do It. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | you do not need to do anyting to keep qi with you--it is always there (if no qi, then dead body). when you train qigong, you do not train to get any kind of sensation. the sensations are a side effect, not the qi itself. the qi is there already, we train qigong to become more mindful of the qi and to eventually gain some sort of conscious control of our qi by training and using our intent. the classics tell us that the mind (intention) leads the qi, then the qi leads the body. this is important! if you are focusing on feeling qi somewhere, this will serve only to stagnate the qi in this area, which will eventually cause physical problems. you will also encounter all kinds of phenomena during the course of any internal training. this is why it's so important to have a teacher who's been down the road before. it's all to easy to get sidetracked by the things that happen during training--remember that the mind is very tricky! also keep in mind that internal training is a process and that process often involves undoing old habits before it can begin to build new, more beneficial habits. |
