Qi gong for stroke victums

For those who get the wisdom channel on their cable, there are some great Qi gong series on.
Some with Dr. Chow that show results from patients who have paralysis from a stroke recovering use of their hands arms and legs as well as regaining their speech.

I don't have that channel. It sounds informative.

I think the use of Qi gong to help stroke victims regain function is a rational and humane approach to these debilitations. There is no doubt in my mind that many people can be helped with a combination of this specialized work with other kinds of therapy.

Wisdom channel I don't know if I get it or not. I'll check when I go upstairs.
As far as using chi kung,I can say that my Teacher and myself used to go to
nursing homes and have calasses for folks there. Some were wheelchair bound
or bed ridden. We would have all of them in a large room, chairs and beds as
needed. We had to work slow for sure but all of them got something good
from it. We helped move limbs until they could do it themselves. The
breathing really helped them. At any rate,we saw vast improvements in almost
all of them.
I am all for any of this type of work. It really does make a difference.

They've been doing that and taichi to stroke/heart attack patients for a few years now at our local hospital. Good fun, but I wouldnt consider it 'authentic' by any means. However, it works and I don't doubt whatsoever the increase in life quality it brings.
