Beginning programme?

10-15 repetitions of Lifting the Sky followed by 5 minutes Zhan Zhuang - reasonable beginners programme

Thanks

Personally, I would say you need more than that.

Hi

My goals
I want to introduce myself gently to the world of Chi Kung, as I don't have a teacher, I only have books (by Wong Kiew Kit and a book on Zhan Zhuang) so i don't want to go crazy and blow up my kidneys or something!
I am looking for increased energy (for health and martial application), focus and clartiy of thought. All the normal things one would expect from having increased your Chi.
I know the time is not very long, but I work a lot.

Okay you have a good basic idea so far. Maybe with time you can increase your standing practice time in small steps. Also, try just opening a window and stare far outside and simply stand there, with your eyes open and breathe from your lower tan tien. You could do this for ten to fifteen mintues a day and it will greatly relax you and help to clear your mind among many other things. If you know the "hugging the tree" exercise then you could do this while stareing out an open window as well. You have the right idea in trying not to get too complicated without a teacher, but if you can try to learn the Muscle Change Classics and they should help you alot as well.
