Rep Power: 0 | | | weightings in standing qigong Hi all, I've been reading this forum a lot lately, very informative, thanks! I was wondering about what you thought was the best spot to put the weight through the feet when standing. Some people say through the centre of the arch, others say through the ball of the foot (bubbling well point I think). Any advice or clarification would be much appreciated!

If I am in a Horse stance, or in a Wuchi posture, the weight is 50-50 between the feet. 80-90% of my weight is supported by the heels of my feet.
I list those two stances, because I happen to do a majority of my qigong exercises in those common stances.

In some practice the weight is brought forward onto the balls of the feet when breathing in and 'rising' and back onto the heels when breathing out and 'sinking'. There are some fairly profound changes you can effect in the minor details of a stance by keeping weight even but thinking into the ball of the foot behind the big toe.

Rep Power: 0 | | | we usually put the weight slightly more on the front of the foot as if leaning forwards slightly but lean the body back slightly to counterballance, also the weight is put more on the inside of the feet than the outside. this will help to activate the kwa muscles inside the hip and take the weight off of the knees. |

Rep Power: 78 | | | you want energy to rise - weight on balls - you want energy to sink, balls of feet.
rocking assist in the cycle. Beginning, ignore it.
