Rep Power: 5 | | | Its for more than Chi and peace. You can meditate and do yourself good or bad. What you need is someone who can help you, near the place you live. The reason why is someone needs to show you how to sit, stand, or position yourself. Also they can ask you questions and guide you in the direction you need to go.
Meditation is in Yoga and Taichi, to name a couple. Find People who teach and ask them for help. You will know if you have found the right person.
Hope this helps. |

Rep Power: 100 | | | There are several ways to meditate as well there are several reasons to meditate, just as the mind is complex in it’s actions there are complexities in purpose.
You should start with understanding purpose.
The purpose of meditation should be thought of as a starter for a direction but not as an objective. Having an objective disassembles the meditation and returns it to just another complex process. The Buddhist have many forms of meditations and some have reasons some don’t. The Buddhist common point of meditation is to be in the present as that is where life exists and is tangible, all else is only in the mind.
One of the examples the Buddhist use is having a cup of tea and staying with that moment but many people don’t get what that means or simply get bored with concepts they find hard to relate to.
The same lesson can be made clear by referring to a subject that anyone can relate to ;having sex The act of sex is in the moment; the point is to be in this moment to the fullest. While having sex don’t think about what happened to you yesterday, or what you have to do tomorrow stay only in the present action and be only in the present action.
This is what meditation does it takes away the interference from the moment it takes away effects on the relationship of the person and the moment those effects such as thoughts of yesterday and tomorrow that have little to do with the present.
When a person states but those things lead me to this moment then that person gives up their freedom to those other things. Meditation is a means to assist the person in regaining their freedom.

Rep Power: 0 | | I was just at the park and when i had to go with my friend to get something i said i'd wait in a spot and he'd come back...while passing time i decided this was a good time to try meditating so i did for a short time i felt a weird sort of energy go through my body and i pretty much blocked out all noise and meditated. When i was done i felt pretty relaxed and just felt like ok.....what happened all it really did for me was relax me and blocked out some sound and the weird energy i felt was that qi. |

Physical meditation produces relaxation which is a modification but not an elimination of an existing condition which can be attained by shallow to deep meditation. Spiritual meditation alters the condition and transforms into something else more through the process of detachment.
