Yi Jin Jing teachers

I was just wondering if anyone here knows if anyone is teaching the Yi Jin Jing in London (uk)?

I hear that this particular qigong, if practised properly is very good for building health and strengthening the body, thus being mighty handy for martial types.

Does anybody here practice it? I'd be very interested to hear any experiences you may have had.

Many thanks.

Yi jin jing

I have been doing muscle-tendon for the last year. There are a number of different variants of it, like with a lot of these things. My version has 23 different parts to it. I have been practicing it with standing too, so I am not sure what has been caused by one and what by the other. One of the things that has happened is that I can't drink coffee any more (I was warned about this before I started). I was told that after 3 years practice you were a new person, but I don't know I have anything more obvious to report about it. Nor do I know any teachers in London (my teacher lives in Orlando and is a student of Share K Lew, so I presume that the version of YJJ he taught me comes from there).

Tendon Changing Chi Kung

Tendon Changing Chi Kung is fantastic. Legend has it that it comes from Bodhidharma and was passed on to the Shaolin. The traditional forms can take half a day to complete. One of my teachers, Danny Lai, has synthesized some into a few different 20 - 30 minute sets. More info and a video, here: http://www.damazen.com/pages/chikung.html

In coming months, there'll be a few movements you can download, study and practice for free on the web site.

The practice, along with the kung fu, stretching and meditation, really turns back the clock on the aches and pains. It really works. Good luck finding a teacher in London. I'm afraid I don't know of any.

Don't know how I missed this. My teacher is west London and teaches a couple of versions of this. PM me for his details if you're curious.

I would guess the various shaolin people around London would teach it.

Dr Wen teaches it as part of shaolin.

I've been practicing it for about a year but specifically for some issues with wrists and hands rather than general benefit. It has helped with what I was looking for but it's only one of the things I practice every morning so I can't tell you which more general benefits are from yi jin jin and which from other stuff.

The benefits experts demonstrate are pretty impressive.
