Rep Power: 100 | | | On a serious note (if applicable), there is no "bad" or "good" qi/jin. Just good, and bad intent. Killing someone who is a threat is not per se evil, just a short route. If you would be talking of the essence of feeling, of course you can "harness" bad feelings, building lots of hate. I somehow doubt it would be helpful, on the long sight. You can harness good feelings, and still keep capable of going into fight mode if necessary. The difference would be to keep fighting as long as necessary, and having other emotions opening other solutions.
BTW, "good" intentions do not always overcome bad ones. It could happen to you that your intentions don't stop the bad guy from keeping bad. Bad force is the same as good, just force. Someone who is in contact with his soul, however you call it, would on the other hand if reasonable strong usually find ways of outsmarting the other guy. Out of my guts I doubt that too often, people are enough in contact with themselves to fall in that category. However, you can try, and see what happens. As long as you do not "decide" there is magic before you experience what you can do, and what you cannot, you can take that journey, learning what it can offer. But, usually your concern should be to have the right sort of "friends", the right location to live in, a reasonable job, education, family, etc. That would address most of the trouble you really come by.

Rep Power: 220 | | | There are two sides to everything, there is Positive energy and Negative energy, such is a fact and Qi follows the same path.
If you've never experienced it and you get the chance, it's quite a learning experience, there are some interesting characteristics of negative energy compared to positive, it seeks to use, destroy, crumble, waste where positive energy seeks to harmonize, build, maintain, unify and as such keeps together while negative doesn't, positive works together to maintain it's prescence while negative works solely to achieve it's purpose, thus positive will overcome.

Rep Power: 100 | | | You're speaking of emotions, not jin in the sense of power. Of course there's the jin, or ching, of emotions, the feng ching (the name from our nomenclature). Easier called emotions, like hate, joy, anger, fear, etc. That's persistent, and it is there until recycled. A feeling of bad intention, that is not softened with good, keeps worrying, but it's only wrong if it has wrong ideas. A hard feeling of power, that wants to oppose, instead, what usually is named the yin approach, blend, is good in the sense of helpful when the action of someone is on the way. I learned that it has a good effect when you stop the attack with high level of jin output that indicates the attacker there is some unusual amount of force that could and will shatter him, and speak to him AFTER this. Start to speak first, and it might be difficult. The negative is not in the power, the qi, it's the emotion driving. It depends entirely on how balanced the emotion is if it is okay, or not. It's a good teaching to show someone who abuses force what it feels like when force is used on him, when you afterwards lend the helping hand. You can transfer feng ching, creating emotions in someone, which is what usually happens when you see a small child and feel love, but you cannot transfer good or bad qi with hammering someone. The good or bad qi is a myth, the "good" intention driven will not overcome bad one if the bad guy is stronger, and your soul is not intervening with extreme levels of smartness. But the capability of the soul to intervene is there, it can simply stop the bad guy from using his power. It's just different what the soul decides would solve it best, sometimes it makes you walk off the place.

yeah nik nails it
chi or woteva u wanna call it is similar to electricity in that it is neither good nor bad in or of itself
it can be used for "good" or "bad", just like electricity
it's the intention behind it that counts

Rep Power: 0 | | | Plants = good chi Car exhaust = bad chi Most of the chi gung or energy work i've been taught focuses on refining and purifying the energy. Removing the crap that accumulates naturally, like the liver does for the blood or the "ionic breeze" does for the air in a room. Somehow, I doubt jogging behind a bus will improve your fighting skills! |

Rep Power: 6 | | | Hey, Chi is the body's electrical energy. It is a physical reality. When you talk about "dark" chi, you aren't really talking about chi. That would be like saying 'dark blood'. You are talking about Shen, the spirit of a person. If you want to use dark spirits you should really ask yourself why. This is not a good path for someone to take, and I would warn against it. I hope many others here would agree.
Just work on yourself. My old Kung Fu master used to say, "For real fighting, you need three things. Courage, for without that you will not do anything. then Strength, and finally Techniques". He was right. Instead of looking for dark spirits to give you an edge, get into the weight room or run a few miles more. That is a better way to find your edge. |

Hey gooddragon1 are you still getting beat up at school? Is the "iron bone" bully still taking your lunch money? I mean this is what this is really all about right? No one would post something like that unless they were trying to get back at the "Kip the high school jock" or some fraternity president that keeps picking on Tri-Lambda's right? I mean hell i want to punch you in the nose for just knowing what the heck the stuff was in this quote anyway!

Rep Power: 9 | | | yee fung choy-double impact strikes in some versions of saam jien kuen,or three power strikes such as seen in SPM are designed to destroy the iron shirt. This is based on temporal summation. Think of the iron shirt as the Enterprise with shields on full. The first strike-fung-an choy (photon torpedo) to a vital area puts the shields at half power,an immediate strike to the same point-shields are down, and the next strike causes a breach in the hull.
Sam Bo Ging, Saam Jien Kuen teach both the iron body and the method to destroy it, including the points in one complete set.
To perform the saamjien kuen double impact strike, the fist is held palm up,and while sliding the forearm against the ribs, the phoenix-eye strike hits at a slight upward angle, the second strike is made without retracting the fist, bust snapping it forward while twisting the fist palm down and dig it in at a slight downward angle. The two consecutive strikes at different angles to the same point results in temporal summation. You can also to it palm down to palm up, or several in a row, up, down, up, down across the floor as a drill.
Sam Bo Ging three power strike can only be taught to you by a SPM Sifu, hands-on, through direct transmission.
You will have to bai-si to me for the "Bird of Prey" cloaking device form," :-p
