| 1. Qigong is a bit more than just breathing, although just breathing per se isn't wrong, and can help a lot alone. However, Qigong contains moving, stretching, massaging.
2. You do NOT per se exhale on contact. And, it especially has NOTHING to do with "internal strength". On using internal strength, you hold breath on contact because it could otherwise hurt, and the massive muscle contraction also inhibits other muscle activities, like breathing.
