he has had an effect on the thinking of a lot of people, one person comes to mind. bruce Lee, a lot of how the mind works in reality kind of information,,,gee and shortly after that he came out with JKD----

Kant ... (now well and truly off the thread topic - sort of anyway). I am familiar with his work - his metaphyiscs more than his moral system. Actually - Leibniz was one of the influences on the direction of Kant's thought.

Thing is with Kant - he is hard. Even though he wrote in German, still, he has been translated into German at least 4 times. His writting is very technical and involved (though wonderful)

Guys, thank you. This thread is a perfect example of why DL is a treasure.

Approx. 3 years ago, I went to meet a person I've heard about from friends. Reads minds, moves things without touching them, etc.

He is a pub owner. When I arrived he was entertaining a group of 4-5 friends. I have not met him previously, nor spoken with him on the phone or something, I just "popped" into his place. (one of his employees identifyed him for me).
Hesitantly I began with an "excuse me... I have heard about you from a few friends of mine, and I wander if you can spare a few minutes to talk to me". As soon as the words "excuse me" left my mouth, he turned around, looked into my eyes without any surprise and said "sure, no problem". Without a word to his friends he took me to a table and we sat down for a 3 hour demonstration of his abilities. I noticed from the begining how unusual it was for someone in his social situation to react the way he did.

He read my mind, and I was VERY carefull not to give away any inforamtion mentalists can use, like enthusiasticaly completing a sentance or a word for him or even changing my facial features, breathing rate and such. My sister's name id Helit. it is a VERY uncommon name in the Hebrew language. He said it. My mother suffered from lung cancer at the time. He knew it. numbers I've been thinking about, colors. Stuff like that.
We moved on to telekinesis. He made a cigarette-lighter I brought with me levitate off my palm (he never touched it. it rested on my palm, he had his hands above and below my palm around 30cm apart, while I'm holding my palm at my eye level, very close to me face. absolutly no strings, suggestion, hypnosis or magnets involved. I particularly noticed that the lighter was pulled into the air bottom first, that is, the plastic part was affected before the metalic part was).
When I placed my arm between his palms I could sense electricity-like vibrations inside my arm.

At the time I was a complete skeptic. I'm saying that so it would be clear that I didn't want to believe. I was forced to recognize reality was different from what I took it to be.
A few weeks later I felt my own qi for the first time (not believing in it's existance, I've never actually practiced qigong....).
From that conversation with him, I think it probable that all different mental abilities are brought about by different frequencies in some "psychic" spectrum (NOT the electro-magnetic). My outlook is ofcourse much more open to the "impossible" today.

So I see this thread has been brought back., you have really been digging deep into the files in the back room.

As for your session I have met known and worked very close with many people like that for more than 30 years. I also know some very gifted fakes as well as always the coin has two sides.

Since I was in my teens I worked in almost every paranormal field and had many experiences. I spent several years working with researchers trying to mainstream the benefits of the types of powers that for the most part are still mostly unknown and missunderstood.
I gave lectures and conducted workshops for years most of the time exsposing the fakes and cons while trying to open people up to what could be. During all that my primary interest in development has really been in healing and there have been some very good successes but my one disappointment is the lack of consistency.
