Meditation Question

There is so much information on the internet about meditation, but one thing still confuses me: When you meditate you are supposed to eliminate background thoughts, clear your mind etc... Why then in films do people in a confusing situation say things like: "Hmmm this is troubling me greatly I shall now go and meditate on this and it will all then become clear" So, are you supposed to try to work out problems you are facing whilst meditating or try to empty your mind and think of nothing but your breathing

I like these calm little moments before the storm.

To resolve issues the person attempts to become open by elimination of distractions...that is not meditation, it may work for the reason it is intended. Meditation is not going to be achieved by an effort of the mind

You are not where you have been and you are not where you are going you are only here.

As the mind moves everywhere and nowhere at the same time. you have to be able to still the nothingness of exsistence. And has your mind begins to exsist in the stillness of the quietness you will begin to self actualize, but all that takes work.


You should start with some standing chi-gung, that way you can learn to get rid of the background noise.

The main thing is to keep focus on what your doing; how your qi is circulating, and your breathing. The background noise will not bother you at all after a period of time.

Oh this is so true, but for the beginner in life and meditation,"the what is in the background" is a huge obstacle to overcome, because the mind is constantly moving, finding the stillness is no easy task.

How would you know how your qi is fowing when you can not feel it because of the chatter inside your mind.

Everyone breathes, it is crucial to meditation.......as well as exsistence.

Second step to meditaion, clear your mind.

Damn this is the time I wish I had Mod abilities, so I could try to track the IP address and find out. But by matching the IP from the previous user it is a definate bet that it is Lance. Of course Lance could have used a dedicated IP from cable or dsl provider and then xfrd the service to someone he knew. Since the IP addresses from such providers are usually reserved Mcpott if he is not Lance would have to know who we are talking about. Of course you could be using your works IP and that could be reserved, in which case you could work with lance if your are not him. And if it is not a reserved IP (ie dial up) and the IPs are matching then use must be using the same service as Lance and dialing to the same dial up numbers, meaning that you are pretty close to Lance in which case you can meet him at Stoms Kung Fu. Of course the Afro Smiley and Jim Kelly are a bit similiar and that is much likes lances afro that was shown in his pics at one timem, so once again will the real slim shady please step up.
