Rep Power: 18 | | | 108 Days of Kung Fu power So the old saying of 100 days to build a foundation is being put to the test with an experiment of celibacy to retain and build Jing in the body. Of course most of you know about the jing qi shen transformation and the idea of the 100 days of celibacy to build jing so I will not go to far into it here, although it is better explained on my new BLOG about the project.
So my friend and I are trying out 108 days of qigong practice and celibacy to see if the jing transformation theory is true... firsthand.
Check out the blog here: 108 Days of Kung Fu Power

Rep Power: 108 | | | I did that with my Iron Palm training, and it accompanied a diet change of no refined sugars or yellow vegetable products.
So...have fun with it! By the end of it, you'll practically bust a nut by riding in a truck with bad shocks.

Rep Power: 108 | | | I'm not too sure to be honest. I've heard contradictory prescriptions from different sources. Maybe someone else with a bit more knowledge would be able to answer that clearly with reasoning.

Depends on the practice. I know some one who did a deeply esoteric yin gung practice last year and the women in the group observed the same restrictions as the men. The practice had to be done 4 times a day, one practice about 4 am. Some practices had to be done outdoors. The practice began with fairly elaborate "prayers". Two of the women lived in a flat in a very respectable part of london with no outdoor grounds. The nearest outdoor space for practice was a grave yard and they were picked up by the police before they had even completed their 4am prayers...

Rep Power: 18 | | | When I was researching and asking my teacher Chen Zhonghua about it all the women thing came up.
Women manifest Jing physically with blood. The monthly menses is a release of stagnant qi and thus continues to bring (produce) healthy jing into their body. In addition the more 'flow' they have of energy in the huiyin area the more jing they build so sex is supposed to be a good thing for them. But not for us... so I guess this is where you find all your tantric practices leading....
Yeah so we are on day 3 so far and feeling strong!!
Wraith what did you notice as far as jing-qi-shen transformation when you did it?????

Rep Power: 108 | | | I'll have to be brutally honest. I could tell a difference, but I can tell you specifically what it was all about. I've always approached my martial arts study from a Western perspective and haven't placed too much emphasis on things like Chi or Shen since the terms are so loose.
However, that being said, I had a feeling of "heartiness". I felt stronger, was sleeping less, waking up quicker (I am usually a lazy bum...the kind that would lay in bed for an hour after waking up), and thinks of that nature.
It didn't turn me into some sort of Dragonball Z character, but I did notice a difference. I can't say for certain whether the cause was the Iron Palm training, Diet, or the lack of orgasm. I know there was SOMETHING there...but I don't know enough about this sort of thing to try and explain it better than that.
I'll tell you this though...on day 31 I have a candy bar in one hand and something else in the other! ^_^
