I saw the pics years ago and it was from a student who got it... Other than that, the only ones I know, or was told, that have it are Sifu's. And for some reason it's kept quite the secret.
I used to doubt it, because you can't see through the cup and it could have been filled with concrete, or any other hard enough material to put in a cup and make it hold your weight. But, over the years I have experienced things and seen things that are quite surreal to say the least and found the more I broke the layers of social conditioning in my mind and release the negativity from myself, the more I could accomplish. If you set no limitations than you have none. Some things just take longer to attain. I came across someone recently who has trained with people that left Wah Lum and one in particular who learned some qing gong from master chan... hence the wine glass. I saw a picture of the wine glass being stood on and it lead to me trying it. I already started light body training through the Zi Ran Men methods as taught to me by my brother and applied it to standing on the wine glass. That's how I know for real its not fake. I was on a cruise with master chan and on eof the waiters was messing with him and giving him a hard time about being the grandmaster and all... and master Chan was trying to get $3K out of him, betting he could stand on an egg and not break it. Point is, there was a lot of people there and master Chan would have lost face and respect if the waiter whipped out $3K and said "prove it." After that... if he can stand on an egg, he can stand on a cup.
Reason I say that before the naysayers hit his, is that it doesn't matter what you're standing on... you pass your energy right through it to the ground. I have begun to experience this and like meditation experiences, you can't really place it in words... It's a feeling that i would guess feels different for everyone.
I also try and stick to lighter foods, a lot of water, no sweets, sex or alcohol when i train light body. I go through phases of the year and usually do it in conjunction with my iron skills training.

Well, here's a Systema dude standing on eggs and beating up cardboard boxes and beer bottles. I dig how he pours one out for his homies.
I'm with Nik on his shear theory. You can manipulate and fine-tune the way your body spreads/adjusts it's weight, as well as improve the neural connections from your brain to your body, but to suggest that internal Chi can bypass the laws of Gravity/Physics is sheer lunacy IMO.
So I am not going to say standing on a wine glass is impossible. But a person flying in the air or levitating. No freakin' way. Although maybe I'm wrong, David Blaine flies all the time.

It IS parcours, using jin skills. And you don't pass your energy through objects, you perfectly keep your point of weight in a single position, not creating shear forces or imbalances. Feels cool, but not "getting light". Feeling light. Almost weightless. Just like you feel from long term jin skill training in Taiji, Bagua, etc. pp. It also leads to a disposition of the body to reorganize in a seamless, intuitive fashion nullifying impacts, or reacting to forces putting you off balance. I remember that once someone heavy ran into me at full speed on a computer fair (sigh) from behind, and my body flopped around like a swing door, without me feeling any impact. It's a unique feeling when you feel this "weightless", but it's not becoming light. This is real world, not Manga.

I saw some doco just before. Now remember I'm in China. This guy was "using his Qi" to move things. Apparently he can smash glass bottles "using his Qi" from about 5 to 10 metres away. As I said I'd have to see it live to believe it.
Person would have to be pretty high level to be releasing qi out of/from their body like that. That would be something indeed.
As far as anything else. I don't really worry about what others believe. I never said I know or believe anyone of this day and age could fly, not saying masters in the past could either, just saying... I don't dismiss that it COULD be possible. Nothing is impossible. Sorry... I don't believe in absolutes.
Now, concerning qing gong. That Wudang guy is no qing gong expert. I have heard nothing of anyone knowing it at Wudang... in my sect anyway. That young master is of the same lineage and the same generation as my master. Nik said it best with the parkour thing. But what would it have been called 2 years ago when parkour wasn't as known or becoming a common term? That wall he does the split jump over is high though.
as far as pushing your energy through objects... whatever you believe.
Yes, but the thing is, people who train in the lightness skills, are often the ones to bring up the flying thing.

Could still be set up. Even seeing it with your eyes isn't foolproof. Just look up David Blaine, Derren Brown, or Criss Angel ( or another top class illusionist ). The other side is, that the human memory is notoriously unreliable. We mix up colours, faces, facts, dates, etc, and still say we are 100% sure of what happened.
Though, if you trust yourself, you can often go to the old "gut feeling".

Ok man . What I was saying was not 100% directed at you. As this is a public forum, I try to put some generalisation into some of my responses, so that more people may benefit ( from either listening to or ignoring me ).
It's cool that you don't care what other people think. But again, this is a forum, and if we all just say that, then we wouldn't have any conversations anymore. hehehe.

I think that was me ?
“

”
Well, people would look at it and call it something. Parkour has always been around ( in a more primal unconcsious way ), it's just more recently been turned into a "thing". I love watching those crazies jump over stuff. There is a guy who always jumps all over the University here. He was recently in an advert on Discovery Channel ( Asian South African ).

Scientifically, there are no borders between anything. If you hold up your hand, then zoom in on the atomic level, there is no different stuff where your hand is compared to the air, nor is there less or more of anything anywhere. There is only a continuous spread of energy. The idea of pushing energy through objects seems a bit redundant to me. The combination of our senses and consciousness, changes our perception of that energy into something more tangible. Though, in my opinion, the only thing that can truly seperate our perceptions from the illusion, is death.

Not saying he is. But, how can you make that assumption ? Does your sect hold all authority on what is or isn't Qing Gong ?
