the text clearly contradicts itself, that means it has to be interpreted (this is why you have Hadiths). Interpretation is essential because no one person, faith or body politic has all the answers.

2. I wouldn't deny your statement- the comparison is irrelevant. "Bible" Christians have the text and nothing else. Catholic Christians have the nexus mysteriorum. That is clear also.

In your opinion. This is at best an over simplification.

Gotta agree FF. The Pope comment was off point and childish.

This kind of figer pointing is what keeps hindering the process.

And you are absolutely correct. The Text is in many cases the most difficult issue because it is SO literal. You need to study the text AND the Hadiths.

I dont, or have not really so I wont quote stuff. Suffuce it to say it would be nice to have a real islamic scholar available to help clear this stuff up.

It's not enough to just not get hit

We'll have to agree to disagree, because I feel that if muslims return to the Qur'an and Sunnah this sort of hatred and violence will vanish. But if we as muslims continue to try and change our religion as those before us (christians and jews) the end result will be as Allah and His Messenger SAWS said; evil throughout the earth. And no one can argue that that is not occuring.

Looks to me like most of the replies are without looking at the videos and statements I posted links to. Who cares who has what view and why, its what people are doing or about to do that is the point.
What matters right now is how out of hand everything is and people need to wake up to it before its too late.
Theres people (in the links) are not talking and have no plans to have a little open chat with anyone.
