A gogoplata is a modified triangle choke where the foot of the attacker is actually across the throat of the opponent, causing the choke. The best way I can think to describe it is to tell you to watch the video where he loses to Aoki (Aoki is wearing the worst pants ever, btw.)
You can see a slow and careful application of the gogoplata.
This is one of the moves popularized by Eddie Bravo as part of his "rubber guard" series.
I had never heard of that before... this dude promised me to show me how to do a gogoplata next training tho...

Hansen is taking some time off to lick his wounds and pick himself up before returning to battle. But with a now expired PRIDE contract, the big question is: where will the former Shooto champion end up?
?PRIDE is interested in renewing our contract,? said Hansen?s manager Marcus Jacubsen. ?Things did not go the way we wanted them to, that wasn?t the Joachim I know in there [against Aoki], so the fighting business is a bit difficult now.?
While 27-year-old Hansen thinks of Japan as his adopted home, America is becoming increasingly appealing, especially after the increased popularity of the sport, thanks in part to the UFC reality series ?The Ultimate Fighter.?
?We love Japan and will continue negotiating with Japanese promotions until early March or so, after that we?ll speak to others,? says Jacubsen.
Hansen, who naturally walks around at 145 pounds, is usually outsized when fighting in the under 160-pound PRIDE lightweight division, and has been considering returning to the featherweight or super-lightweight class.
?There is some opportunity for fighters of his weight in America,? says Jacubsen, ?but it is hard to know how much a fighter like Joachim can get at that weight.?
The World Extreme Cagefighting promotion, recently purchased by the owners of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, has already announced both featherweight and bantamweight (under 145 lbs) match-ups for its Jan. 20 unveiling in Las vegas.
