That little kid ain't whippin' anyone's ass but maybe another little kid. No matter how 'skillful' or amazing that video may seem, that kid is currently at such a physical disadvantage to any reasonably fit adult that all the skill and smoothness in the world wouldn't make a difference. Also, notice that no one is attempting to practice violence on that kid. Important point.

Now, this is not to take anything away from that kid or to belittle his accomplishments...

...but apply the same logic to adults.

There are plenty of people who really believe that learning X number of moves or looking real smooth in the gym/club/dojo can somehow magically erase physical disadvantages on the order of what that kid would face against even another kid just 5 years older.

Any adult who sees that video and honestly thinks "that kid would kid anyone's ass!" is likely to be of the ilk who really believes that size, strength, speed, aggression, age, etc. 'doesn't matter.'

That's all I'm saying...

I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone here actually pictured that kid kicking anyone's ass... yet. I know I didn't... I'm pretty sure the the thread title was "togue in cheek"...I am simply amazed at the physical skills the kid has developed at such a young age. If the kid keeps it up by the time he (both of them) reaches adulthood, he will be able to kick some serious ass.

While I agree with your premise, I beg to differ that Nainoa (secind video above) would absolutely wreck most any other 8-12 year olds.

Funny though how a weapon can change everything. When i first started teaching kid's classes, my Sifu handed a kid off to me to do some sword play with. He was about 7 i think. So here i am at 6'1" n 180 lbs. and the kid looks back at Sifu who says, "Well? Fight!" In the blink of an eye he spins around, whacks me up in the sack, keeps spinning another 360 deg. and perfectly slices me across both eyes as i folded from the ball-shot...
After the laughter and cheers subsided my Sifu says to me, "You know you just got killed by a 7 yr. old kid, right?"
Couldn't see yet, but i managed an affirmative answer...
