Rep Power: 54 | | | Ironbody/ herbal medicine I recently read that most modern Iron body practitioners practiced quickly and usually until they bleed (hands, shins etc.). And in the same thing, it said that the people of Shaolin practiced slowly and applied herbal remidies after each session.
Question: Does anyone know a remidy like that? if so, how would I make it?

Iron Palm Liniment
PlumDragon sells quality liniments, buy from him.
In all truth, anyone doing Iron Body till they bleed are the biggest idiots this side of Ashida Kim, in those cases they're harming themselves, not conditioning

I would agree with what Mei Hua said. You should NOT be bleeding from any type of iron body training (you really shouldnt even be bruising). Not only does it degrade your training, but you cannot apply the proper types of liniments if you have open wounds. |

Rep Power: 54 | | | Yeah, I was doing some Iron Palm last night for about 45 minutes.
My hands obviously grew red as I was hitting a concrete block but this morning when I woke up they weren't bruised, and not really even sore.
Is that good or bad?

Rep Power: 61 | | | Seh, a few things:
- You want to start off slow with this sort of thing. 45 minutes is way too long to be hitting something if you havent worked up to it over a good deal of time. Even though they may not be bruised or sore this morning, you can cause a lot of damage if you are careless about the way you train.
- You shouldnt be hitting a concrete block, but working with a medium tat gives to conform to the shape of your hand. Thats why rice, small rocks, etc are often used.
- You should always be usign jow, before *and* after you do this sort of thing. Im not just saying that because I sell it. Its a very real necessity in this sort of training.
- Does your instructor know you are doing this type of training? have you asked him for advice on how to train? |

Rep Power: 54 | | | I didn't just start. I've been working on it for the better part of a year and a half. I started out with rice. I moved on to steel pellets, and now i'm working with blocks. Should I move back to steel pellets?
My Teacher knows that I'm working with it, but for some reason has decided to give me no insight on anything. I haven't been using jow when I did it, which is why I asked when I read something about it.

Rep Power: 61 | | | If I were you: Id get some jow ASAP and Id move back to some medium that was hard but allowed for movement; rice, beans, pebble rocks. Some people use steel pellets but I find that the little pebble river rocks work great, and cost like $5 for 25 lbs at the hardware store...And try to talk to yoru teacher about it on a normal basis. |

Rep Power: 54 | | | Will do, thanks. Large river rocks, or smaller rocks? Or does it matter?
