Not really, I can readily get both of those ingredients; theyre just kind of expensive. Only reason I dont keep a stock of Seahorse is because its a powerful ingredient that very few people have any use for. |

There are a couple different places I can get that sort of thing at, but it is definitely not as commonplace as most stuff. If you need any let me know and Id be happy to give you a good price--Ill be putting in a big restocking order soon so it would be a good time to get some.
No need to go after Lions and Jaguars--treated long gu or long chi are decent substitutions, although they dont exactly replacate the actions of hu gu, and are not as strong. Fortunately, both are in good supply and not expensive.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Use of Tiger bone is just stupid. Anything it does can also be done with plants....if it actually has an effect at all.
If I had to hazard a guezz, I bet you could leave it out of a formula, not substitute for it, and get the same results anyway.
It's one of those things that is more of legend, than reality. |

Its actually the bone we need for calcium matrix. Tiger bone and other bones tend to be in Iron Palm formulas as well as some major injury formulas as well as tonic formulas where you want to have a decent supply of calcium to the bones to give the body a signal as to what you need to either repair or strengthen.
The use of bones only of tigers is silly and outdated. I use beef bone and stallion bones when I can get my hands on them as well as wild boar bone. You need it in the formulas and you cannot get it from all plants. A decent formula will have all forms of life in it for maximum power. Plant, animal, insect, etc...

There is also a thing in TCM called "essence". Tiger bones have something other bones don't (i.e. Earth power), Ginseng has something other herbs don't, and so on. So, all those ingredients are there for a reason!
