Aconitum Brachypodum linament

Any good? How long would it keep in a plastic bottle? How much of the benefit is the linament and how much the heat and massage applied with it?

Dunno, pretty sure it's a relative of fu zi, A. carmichaeli.
If it is it may be quite toxic but there are many variables including preparation.
Plum and Dale etc. might have more info...
Whats the liniment supposed to be for? Any other herbs in there?

Brachypodum probably describes a very uncommonly used form of Aconite, Yi Zhi Hao, which shares primarily the same compounds and toxicity as the other aconites (Chuan Wu, etc). Aconite is hot and moving; its very very yang, restores yang, disperses cold, etc etc. It can be usd to reduce pain and is sometimes used for arthritic conditions; Its also very toxic, so dont go putting it in your mouth or anything. Didnt I put an entry for this into the herb encyclopedia..?

Where did you find this liniment? It doesnt make much sense to have a liniment made with a single herb, let alone this one. I wouldnt keep a liniment in a plastic bottle at all, but I suppose if you had no other container it might be ok in there for a short time until you found something else.

This was something I was given for a (fairly solid) pull. There could be all sorts of stuff in there besides the main herb named - that's the bit in English. I was wondering if it was a standard type of linament.

this is a patent medicine. It is from what factory or manufacturer?

Most aconites are for serious injuries as well as chronic old injuries that need to be warmed up as you have a cold bi problem.

Let me know as Im curious.

Could you post photos?

Thanks,

Dale
