Rep Power: 36 | | | I carry a knife on me at all times. I have trained many dagger forms in various arts. I have to say from the pics Aq posted, that I don't want to find out if I know what the heck I am doing! I tell you what, punching and kicking, throwing and grappling, I feel OK, but, that knife stuff is nasty business. Where are you located Aqira? Is FLFL Florida? If so, I will be doing some work in Orlando and Miami next year, maybe you can teach me a thing or three?

Rep Power: 0 | | | horseplay The student with the knife got what he deserved sad to say. Horseplay with a real blade is going to result in getting cut. Sounds like he was lucky though. Now my sifu would have slaped some duct tape on him and made him cleanup the blood. |

Rep Power: 17 | | | Come on Larry Sifu would send us to the Hospital, when we were gone he would explain to the class how stupid it was. But the whole duct tape and clean up the blood is true though

Actualy I was refering to sifu Spaulding. He was conserned with the carpets in the school. Yes sifu Dufresne would have been conserned with the cut but probably would have stiched it up him self.
By the way, when I said sifu I should have associated a name with it. I have many teachers including yourself.

He only allowed senior people to train with live blades though. I am sure that incident helped everyone in class learn a new respect for the seriousness involved in defending against knife attacks. |

Rep Power: 9 | | | training for real, using live blades, etc is one thing. Having a student playing, waving it and taunting another student, etc should never happen. Idiots like that don't belong in a school where grownups are training with sharp things. |

i wouldn't say they don't belong in the school, but i would recommend he not have a part in this type of training until he learns control and responsibility.
and the guy is a cop, u'd think he knows the value and seriousness of dangerous weapons.
interesting... |

Bull****. The guy will never learn the amount of "control and responsibility" to learn Martial Arts. He's a head case. Oh, and btw, being a cop doesn't qualify him as being responsible, or senseble. Many cops are ego-driven, immature, head-cases as well. Remember, not every cop became a cop because he felt a duty to help his fellow man. Many simply want a gun and a badge. Most should have neither. |

i may have missed it (didn't read every post), but do u know this cop personally?
if not then i prefer to give ppl the benefit of the doubt.
excluding someone from the school/class doesn't help.
many ppl come to martial arts to take control of their lives.
maybe this guy is a late bloomer to the maturity game... | |
