Rep Power: 0 | | Hmmm... My Dear Friends,
I suppose I consider the Chinese short staff (essentially the equivalent of the Japanese jo staff) the most useful of the weapons for modern defense, being easy to improvise as well as to carry while out walking.
However, my personal favorite weapon would be the Chinese Darn Dao broadsword. Nothing like a razor-edge flipping around near your head at velocity to keep you on your toes while training.
Of course, I keep my training up in Glock-Fu as well.

No idea who did it first. Generally speaking, the Japanese style Nunchuku has the octagonal shape with hard edges, while the Chinese Nunchuku has a round cylindrical shape. It's not a rule for every case, but in general, it applies.

Are you referring to the big tall battle ax that has a point on top, an ax head on one side and a hooked point on the opposite side of the ax head? Thats my favorite weapon. Or are you referring to the small hand held axes?

You'd call it a Cheung in Chinese or Spear in English, you wouldn't call it a Spear Spear,
