I have significant problems on this front but have (touch wood) built up to far stronger than average in the wrists and minimum finger pain by sword drills, yi jin jin, baduan jin and (sorry, it just happens to be a major part of my training) yoga.

I really like FF and DBoy's answers.
Find an Iyengar yoga teacher and practice down dog as they teach it. After a few years train up to postures like pea**** with Iyengar technique.
Find a kung fu teacher and learn the chi kung sets I mentioned.
Results require very detailed instruction. Your wrists are (relatively) small joints at the end of long levers so it is all too easy to mash them up.
This guy has a bodged up combination of the lot available on his videos list Yogic Arts Videos : Yogic Arts by Duncan Wong I haven't trained with him but I have done the routine and it works if your wrists are basically healthy and you know what you are doing so can avoid injury. If that doesn't apply avoid this video like the plague. In fact, I know several very experienced yogis who'd just tell you to avoid the guy and his whole system like the plague

Rep Power: 45 | | | I have a couple ways to strengthen and harden your fingers and wrists. #1 do push ups on the back of your wrists. We used to do these all the time. They'll hurt to do the first couple time you do them until your wrists loosen up but they work great. #2 do finger tip pushups. #3 do finger tip jabs into a canvas bag filled with beans or pellets of some type.

Rep Power: 40 | | | Piano also, but it feels more like it was strengthening my tendons and muscle mainly, where guitar made my skin thicker and tougher. Good to do both. |

Rep Power: 220 | | | Try these Isometric exercises, they will help to toughen the muscle which will lead to what you're looking for parth
1.) Hold your arms straight out in front of you with the palms facing forward, positioned in Tiger Claws, slowly squeeze your fingers into a fist, do this keeping everything very tight and very slowly.
2.) Hold arms out in front of you, palms facing the ground, fingers spread out, close your hand and then shoot your fingers out like you're throwing lightning bolts, do this about a 100 times per hand.
These will strengthen the hand/wrist/forearm. |

Rep Power: 40 | | | Isometric exercise is really good stuff. The beauty of them is, once you understand how they work you can just make up your own ones custom built for you. You can make up thousands of variations.
The way I learned Isometrics was through Paul Vunak's system where he advises when doing Isometric exercises to push/pull as hard as possible, but for 10 seconds at a time, then switch to another body part and do a whole bunch like that. Apparently, Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto felt that 10 seconds per position ( but doing many different ones ) was enough to gain the full benefits of the exercise. |

This sounds like a great way to wreck the cartilage in your wrist and ruin your hands for life.
look, wrist strikes and finger jabs are not meant to be delivered to hard areas. learn good proper technique, understand anatomy and you wont have to try to make parts of your body physically harder. strike with a soft hand and get a better result.
