If you exercise like a maniac you should be fit enough for going back to training. The six pack? That takes something extra. If you are genuinely training hard then you do need to recalibrate - use a heart rate monitor.
I have a 0 - 8 pack depending on diet and training. An 8 pack is the natural result of doing a lot of training regularly then one week every day getting up at 5am, doing meditation, chi kung, tai chi, and (hard core) yoga, having a bowl of fruit and some herb tea for breakfast, then spending from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm scrambling round on mountains in the hot sun with a half litre of water and some dried fruit as lunch. Then eat what you like for dinner... That or six weeks expedition kayaking. A 0 pack is the natural result of training regularly but focusing on function rather than looks...
The women - they're international standard classical/modern ballet. Bobblehead is right - it's not necessarily healthy. | ” | |
running I did 1 1/2 mile every morning.
then I'd do some aerobic during the day about two to three hours worth.
Swimming I can't do it every day because I don't have a pool, or a gym pool membership. But when I did swim I'd swim for hours! |

That would need to take you under 8 min though you certainly wouldn't want to do it daily and even at that pace probably wouldn't get a six pack running middle distance. You would need to do 3 or so miles preferably cross country at a good pace (7 minutes a mile is good for those of us who aren't serious runners) and again it wouldn't be daily.
Walking three miles a day is excellent, and very healthy, and builds a good fitness base, but it isn't going to get your heart rate into the optimum zone for burning you lean. I think the heart rate monitor is a good suggestion.

I have a slight problem Asthma. And have an allergy to trees and grass so if run for to long my lungs tighten. And I live in Snohomish where theres a forest around every corner.
I wish I had a treadmill that would be so helpful to my problem.

What is a heart rate monitor. Where do I get one? Is it pricey?

Rep Power: 54 | | Uhhh, it uhm, monitors your heart rate.?.. A good one will start around $80-100, an interval timer and programmable "zones" are a must to really access the benefits of heart rate training.
These guys are the most popular... Polar USA
...and this is the book everyone pretty much starts out with... THE HEART RATE MONITOR BOOK by Sally Edwards
"from $.01..." @ amazon.
