More likely to give you back/spine problems than build abs.

Having a six pack has less to do with ab routines and more to do with keeping your body fat percentage at a low level, ie: your BMI needs to be low. Now, according to the good 'ol US of A's national standard, a woman's normal BMI range is 19.1-25.8%, anything under 19.1 is "underweight". However, it is here that you will have more of a shot at the six pack look. The trick is to bring the two together, yea? Keep a low--but healthy--BMI, do the ab work to make the muscles "stick out" more, thus giving you the look. For men, the range is 20.7-26.4, roughly. I am at 17 percent, but to be honest, I think I still have a little flab I could lose. However, Im not trying to win a bodybuilding contest. Even those guys/gals cant stay at that BMI year round, thats why it is referred to as "Contest Weight". And even though my "six pack" verges on the two to four range I have never been in better shape, functionally speaking. Nice abs dont equate to athleticism, at least in my book. It is too bad it does in the mass media. The skinny models plastered on any store front or magazine--at least to me--is more the epitome of weak than fit.

BMI does not equal fat percentage. They are two unrelated measurements.
The only thing about six pack abs and women is that dropping a woman's fat percentage below 12% can start messing with their hormones. 3% for men.
