Pro- What I got from this book was something I was not expecting to get. The book does not mention word one about teaching or anything like that. It focuses solely on the martial arts studio as a business, exactly as the title suggests. It offers plenty of advice on things I did not even consider, or would not consider unless it just happened. For someone interested in one day running a martial arts studio, it gave me a lot to think about.
Con- I do not know how much of this information will change with the times, and with the laws. It is also can completely change the direction of someone who is teaching for pleasure versus and teaching to make a living. It seems to suggest that you will have to sacrifice principles and values in order to make money.
Overall I think this is an essential read for anyone interested in opening a martial arts studio, or even someone who is already running one.
