Shinku Katana (1207-IK)
The katana was considered the soul of the samurai. Although other weapons waxed and wained in popularity throughout history, the sword remained a constant. For much of Japan's history, only samurai were even allowed to carry swords, and a peasant carrying a sword was enough reason to kill the peasant. The Shinku Katana was designed as a tribute to these noble warriors. The full tang blade is hand-forged from 1064 high-carbon steel and features a blood grove as well as a traditional clay temper. This hardening process creates an authentic hamon line and makes this sword incredibly sharp and durable. The tsuba is crafted from copper and the wood saya is done in a deep red lacquer and tied with imported Japanese cotton sageo. To finish off the authentic design of this sword, the handle is wrapped in authentic ray skin and premium black cotton. The craftsmanship of this katana is superb and rivals swords that are twice the price. Perfect for cutting or combat demonstrations. This sword comes with a free sword bag and display box.
