Pros:
Cons:

This classic is what i consider to be the best kung fu/comedey movie ever. There where almost no flaws in the movie til columbia tristar got there hands on it the cut out lots of good scenes in the movie. The only other problem i had with it other than that was the dubbing people do yourself a favor watch it with subtitles.

If you're not sure if you like Jacky Chan, see this movie first...

It has all an old Kung Fu flick should have.
This is one to watch over and over again!

Pros:
Cons:

I've never understood any dialog in this movie. I watched it with five good friends and the only copy we could get had the original Chinese dialog with Korean subtitles. But that only made the movie that much better. It turned into Kung Fu Science Theater 3000 with all of us pitching in our own lines.

But that aside, the film really is great. The fight scenes were excellently choreographed and performed. As with almost all action movies, the plot is ho-hum at best. Dad has a contract on his head so rebellious son shapes up and trains to protect him. But if you're watching kung fu flicks, chances are this matters next to nothing to you. I especially liked the humor aspects presented. Basic slapstick, simple irony, and other things that even with no understandable audio, still come through crystal clear and are laugh out loud at times.

Do yourself a favor and watch this, either for a first time or to get re-acquainted. Just try to get an original as I understand the new releases have cut some stuff out. And if you can't get English audio, just invite a good group of friends over and ad-lib the dialog.

Pros: great kung fu; great comedy
Cons: audio dubbing flawed

Undeniably one of the staples of the kung fu movie repertoire. Fight scenes are well choreographed and the comedy is classic Jackie Chan. Jackie seems to do much more stunt work than actual kung fu these days, but Drunken Master is filled with Jackie\'s kung fu prowess at his best. I have owned this movie for about two years and have watched it again and again. The audio is admittedly sub-par, but most Chinese kung fu movies of the time were. I found the training sequences to be especially enjoyable. I always like a movie that demonstrates good training rather than the cookie-cutter, \"Okay, I\'ve trained for a day. Now I\'m ready to fight\" type of mentality. Drunken Master gets a \"10\" by me...a well made low-budget movie (which is rare).

Pros:
Cons:

This is the movie that made Jacky a superstar in 79'. It broke the box-office records held by Bruce.
In 78' "Snake in the eagle's shadow" was made with the same cast, including the wonderfull a$$ kickin' villain wang zhang li (hwang jang lee).

It was the first directing attempt of Yuen wo ping (Sam Seed is his real-life father), so that explains the high choreography level.

Pros: Excellent movie, and great Kung Fu action.
Cons:

Excellent movie.

Well worth the time in not training just to see it!
