Pros: Excellent TCM reference for the martial arts practitioner
Cons:

Bridges the gap between Western sports medicine and traditional Eastern therapies, many of which are a complete mystery to Western martial arts students.
How many times have you gotten a deep bruise or sprain while training and your sifu said \"put jow on it\"? Most students know that jow helps heal training injuries, but how and why it works, they don\'t know. Bisio\'s new book describes several types of jow/liniments, which injury or stage of healing they are designed for, and how to use them.
But how to use jow is just one small part of this book. Injury prevention, dietary tips (including an explanation of the Eastern outlook on diet), and training exercises (including 8-section brocade) are given ample attention.
The biggest accomplishment of \"A Tooth From the Tiger\'s Mouth\" is that it demystifies the world of traditional Chinese medicine for the layperson. This book won\'t make you an expert, but its remedies can prevent you from doing more damage to an injury in the interval between sustaining the injury and getting to a doctor/acupuncturist/other.
IMO this is a landmark work. It\'s the first of its kind that I\'ve seen: a martial arts medicine handbook targeted directly at the audience that needs it most. I\'ve checked out other \"martial arts medicine\" references (written for Westerners) in the past, all of which were disappointing as the advice given was all Western-based and could be found in any health department pamphlet. It\'s more than worth the purchase price.

Pros: For martial artists with no past background in Medicine.
Cons: None

I have used this book for martial arts and medicine, excellent asset to the book shelf. Made a few of the recipes with great results.
